RoSaCe

has been implemented on an experimental basis in six European cities. This conference will provide an opportunity to communicate the main results and establish dialogue at school and city levels.

RoSaCe is a European experimental project based on an innovative concept: in order to be sustainable, road safety education should contribute to a better understanding of the concept of safety and positively influence quality of life at school, in the surrounding area and throughout the entire city.

The RoSaCe project has been supported since March 2007 by the Directorate-General for Energy and Transport of the European Commission. RoSaCe focuses on the importance of autonomous, safe access to city spaces for the psychosocial development, health and wellbeing of children and society in general. Experience demonstrates that the simple process of bringing children and the entire community “back to the street” would make streets safer.
